Thank you for choosing Center Stage Dance Academy. Since 2015 we have been committed to instilling a love for the performing arts in students of all ages and backgrounds. We strive to provide quality dance education in a positive, nurturing environment. The following guidelines cover everything you need to know as a student or family member. Mission Statement

Center Stage Dance Academy is dedicated to teaching correct dance technique, theory, and terminology for students of all ages and levels. We believe in building a solid foundation, mentally and physically, that allows every student to perform at any level and appreciate the true beauty of dance. We do not believe in over-inflated prices or excessive performances. Our staff are vibrant, passionate instructors who make it their priority to pass their knowledge on. Our students come first.

Studio Policies

All classes begin with barre work or center warm-ups that form the foundation of each technique. New students are placed by age first, then ability. Advancement is at the instructor's discretion.

Acro Placement Levels

  • Acro 1: Beginning level, ages 5 and older
  • Acro 2: Must perform a standing backbend and cartwheel
  • Acro 3: Must perform a standing backbend and pull up independently, a back walkover, and hold a handstand

Proper attire is required so instructors can see body lines and ensure correct technique.

Ages 5 & Under

  • Any colored leotard and tights
  • Skirt optional
  • Dance bags brought into the dance room
  • Shoes changed in the dance room by teachers
  • Parents may not enter the dance room without permission

Ages 6 & Up

  • Any colored leotard, unitard, leggings, or fitted top
  • No sweatshirts or hoodies
  • Dance bags stay in the waiting area
  • No street shoes on the dance floor
  • Shoes changed in the waiting area
  • Water bottles only in the dance room
  • Phones must stay in the waiting area

All Students

  • Hair must be in a ponytail, braids, or bun before entering class
  • Students may not leave the dance room without permission

Tuition covers a 30-week curriculum paid in 9 monthly installments from September through May. Recital costumes are included. Tuition is due the first week of each month.

Payment Policies

  • No monthly invoices are sent, payment is the account holder's responsibility
  • A $20 late fee applies after the 15th of each month
  • Accounts over 60 days delinquent may result in suspended lessons
  • Accounts must be current to receive costumes or participate in performances
  • Returned checks incur a $25 fee and require cash payment for the remainder of the year

Accepted Payment Methods

Multi-child discounts apply per household, based on age oldest to youngest.

2nd Child 5% off
3rd Child 10% off
4th Child 15% off

We expect all students to show respect for themselves, each other, and all instructors.

In the Studio

  • Arrive on time with proper attire and shoes
  • Hair pulled up before entering class
  • No phones or gum in the dance room
  • Do not talk during class unless asking a question
  • No sitting during class
  • Do not leave the dance room without permission
  • Clap at the end of class to thank the instructor
  • No running, yelling, or rough play
  • Notify the instructor before class if injured, sick, or leaving early

Respect & Community

  • Be kind to all instructors, peers, and staff at all times
  • No inappropriate language or conversations by students or parents
  • Gossiping among students or parents will not be tolerated
  • Derogatory comments about the studio, staff, or classmates, in person or online, are strictly prohibited
  • Alcohol and drugs are forbidden on studio premises

Miss April has final say on all placement and studio matters. The studio reserves the right to dismiss any student for inappropriate or disruptive behavior.
